Let us know what's new with you! Send your prayer requests, graduation, engagement and birth announcements, achievements, you name it. Just e-mail Chris and we'll get the word out!
THIS REMINDER COMES TO US FROM SANDY BRANDT:
I'm not sure if our
members are aware of the Horse Insurance (Personal Excess Liability
Insurance) offered through the NC Horse Council, click on this link:
NC HORSE COUNCIL, then
click on "Membership" to you can review the info and see if
you or anyone you know may be interested.
It doesn't cover the actual horse, but does cover any damages your
horses may cause to other people or their property. It's a really
good benefit, extra protection for emergencies such as when they get
out, they damage others property when you are riding them, someone
gets hurt riding your horse...you get the message. and it only
costs $37.00 per year for a single adult member! ($1,000,000
00 LIMIT) This includes membership with NC Horse council
which enables this great price. It runs January 1st to December
31st, so the sooner you join, the more bang for your buck.
In this day and time, unfortunately, people seem to sue at the drop
of a hat, so any protection we can get for ourselves is a must, and
I don't think anyone can beat this price.Just a thought......may never need it, but you know what they say:
pray you'll never need to use it, but thankful you have it when you
do.
No, I'm not getting any benefit for people signing up for this, but
if you do sign up, please tell them I recommended it.
They also offer group rates if any clubs want to join together.
Hope you have a blessed day,
Sandy Brandt

The Barrel Horse News website is up and running at last, but the Blackmons have been in touch to let us know that both Madison and Cheyenne Mundy had clean runs in the Youth First Go. Madison and Bob had a 17.148 and Cheyenne and Snowball a 24 and both will run again on Thursday in the new 5D format. Madison clogged her way into everyone's heart at the Monday night talent show with "You're a Grand Old Flag," and she won! NC01is so proud! Maybe we can get her to give us a reprise at the next banquet!
Two other achievements so far: NC won third place in the Spirit Parade on Wednesday night -- and Taylor Jo Shepardson of Castalia got 2nd in the 4D in the Youth First Go. In the Teen First Go, Nicole Love took 3rd in the 1D, and our NC07 friend, Harley Cratt, got back to the finals in the 5D. Way to ride! We'll be back with more results as they come to us!
MORE GREAT NEWS! A bouncing baby barrel racer was born Monday the 26th at 3:44 PM and we're so happy for Brooke Norton and all her family, which now includes 6 lb. 6 oz. Caleb Shelton Norton. Congratulations and God bless you all!
Evidently it's quite a production to open a separate bank account to receive and disburse contributions in memory of our dear friend, Richard Locklear. If you would like to add to the funds we're passing along to Mary Lou to help with expenses, you may either see Monica or mail a check directly to Mary Lou Locklear at 5314 Glendale Rd., Kenly, NC 27542. Mary Lou and the family are profoundly grateful for all the help, all the cards and good wishes she's received from so many in the barrel racing community.
INFO FROM DARLA WATKINS, who raises an interesting (and potentially very important!) subject: Truck and Trailer Coverage for Breakdowns. Who hasn't either worried about getting stuck out there with a truck or trailer problem, or actually had it happen? Click HERE for details.
